How long have you been in business?
Since 1982 originally as Bar Code Solutions, Inc., we changed our name to Edibar Systems in 2005 when our industry focus changed to a software development company.
What is your primary product or service?
Automotive Release Accounting software for manufacturers and suppliers to the OEM and 1st tier supplier community. The system is basically an automated shipping and e-commerce error proofing system.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
We initially we evalved from a hardware service and sales organization. Our first product was developed in 1984 for Kodak and Dupont Corporation for a barcode label printing system to run on the new IBM PC. Since then we have developed many barcode printing and scanning software solutions including a web based label printing system used by such companies as Harley Davidson, Ford Motor and Cintas.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our customer service commitment is known throughout the automotive community. Our participation in industry associations like AIAG and automotive events keeps our company on the leading edge of changes occuring which keeps our customers one step ahead of their competition.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Over the years we have had offices in Tennessee and Ohio but time has demonstrated that Michigan is still the automotive capital. We built our corporate offices in Macomb Township in 2005 and we have no plans on expanding further.
